Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon on June 18th in Duluth, MN!

The start time is something to get used to (or made for Europeans) – 6:15 am (2 pm in Germany). However, this race is a have to as it is THE annual event in my present hometown Duluth. The weekend is packed with concerts starting Friday, races including Grandma’s marathon, Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon, William A. Irvin 5k as other fun stuff to do.

The Grandmas marathon, taking place on the same day, celebrates its 40th anniversary. Wow – since 1977!! And simply impressive is that since 39 years three runners have been finishing the marathon every year – what a commitment and human vigor! Like more than 8500 runners are also these three guys again part of this event and we will run along the scenic North Shore of Lake Superior, passing my neighborhood – Yeah – and finish a the Duluth Canal Park.

My personal goal: race it at max – it will be a blast!

Ten days to go…get the last polish for a big day!

Your getting excited Mona

Looks like I have my goals well in focus….

Every day of last week I was pleased by nice, satisfying running sessions…on the track, local tune-up races, recovery trail runs and sunrise long jogs…soon it´s getting into serious racing again.

Presently it’s as simple as it naturally is:

running rules!

Let´s start into another one of those!

Yours, Mona
